Additional project samples from my time at Expedia Group

During my tenure at Expedia, I've been involved in a diverse group of projects, including the creation of small page components to complete user experiences. While each project has undergone the entire design process, not all are currently accessible for viewing, therefore my hope is that the below samples gives you a good idea of my work.

Brand Magazine

A new travel research product that Expedia Group introduced over the past year was the Brand Magazine. This magazine acted as a blog full of curated travel content about top trending and popular travel spots around the world. My role within this project was to help inform design decisions, content creation and organization, image selection, module selection and article build out. This curated content is being used in social and email campaigns across the family of brands, including Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo.

Loyalty hub

The objective of this project was to collaborate with the incentives team in establishing a new loyalty hub. This included the development of a suite of email templates for a monthly statement and the creation of a landing environment designed to enable customers to track their monthly progress toward Expedia rewards.

The Travel Edit

The Travel Edit was a series of weekly email communications distributed to distinct user segments, determined by shopping signals. These email campaigns were built using the template suite created as part of the Email Design System initiative, making it an efficient tool for production designers.

Before its official launch, user testing was conducted, and the newly designed emails received positive responses, achieving a user success rate exceeding 60%.

Travelocity mobile app

Working closely with the mobile product owner, I designed and oversaw implementation of various merchandising improvements to the mobile app. Our primary goal was to ensure optimal content display, incorporate effective personalization, and enhance overall user experience.

Since implementation, the Expedia, Travelocity and Hotels.com mobile apps have streamlied into a cohesive family of apps.

EG Labs

During Fall 2023, Expedia introduced a new EG Labs project, in which I had a consultant role to help inform decisions on best practices and appropriate content. Despite adhering to an established design system, I dedicated my efforts to enhance the user experience within a tight two-week timeframe. Our collaboration with an external agency was instrumental in achieving this goal. The page reached 7M views during the first week of release.

Expedia Homepage

During 2020-2022, I collaborated closely with the Expedia Experience Design (XD) team to develop a fresh concept for the Expedia homepage. This initiative included comprehensive user experience research, competitive analysis, review of assets and content, and multiple iterations of design and prototyping.

While the present-day Expedia homepage may have evolved since the implementation of this version, it played a pivotal role in establishing a more modular visual and functional framework that could be seamlessly extended to the family of brands.
